Earth and Me - 1
Earth you are my very self,
For I consist of you;
Beneath your mantle,
You sigh, you cry,
You heave, You breath,
You roast, You burst,
Mighty Rivers flow
Beneath your cloak,
Fiery fires
Inextinguishable
Burn within your breast
And belly;
All I have in me
Is within you,
And you are in me;
There is non other
More like me than you,
Or is it that
I am more like you
Than you, me?
Yes, of course!
(What an ass I am!
The one thing you are not);
And when I'm done
I'll come to you,
I know I'll feel at home,
For then we shall be united,
You and I as one
As it is meant to be
Beyond that I cannot foresee.
