A warm and hearty welcome to the ballroom of my thought-world. I hope you'll let your hair down and enjoy dancing with me on the mental floor.
I used to have a commercial site selling my artworks, where I also displayed my poetry and quotes as a little nibble for those who have an interest in such things. A little while ago, I decided that selling art creations isn't a viable option for making a living. Had I stuck to it I would have joined the lengthening parade of impoverished artists. I now engage in a completely different line for a living, though I must confess I thoroughly enjoy that line which is the logical side of me.
This new site is simply for keeping my irrational, zany and creative side in ticking order and for the sheer pleasure of giving expression to some of my thoughts. I take great pleasure in the written word and have lately been spending any spare time writing poetry.
My poetry writing is self-taught and I started writing in my adolescent years. Between then and now there have been years at a stretch when I didn't write or think of poetry due to the path I was treading in my journey through life. During those years I knew at the back of my mind that I would write poetry again.
In late July 2011, the thought entered my mind that I must pick up the threads where I had left off. and I started writing poems again in August 2011.
I will also be writing new quotations every now and then, giving vent to my philosophic side.
I invented the word "poeticambles" as my site title. I like inventing words and you will occasionally come across them in my poems.
My spellings are standard British. So if you are American, please make allowance for this.
I do hope you like my writings. If you do, please visit me again. I plan to keep writing creative stuff until the right side of my brain refuses to engage, and that hopefully won't be until I'm pushing daisies.
My writings are open to the interpretation of the reader. I won't make any attempt to explain what I meant by something. They are exactly what one makes of them. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm sure each one will interpret them according to their whim and fancy. And that's just the way I have intended it to be.
If you like you can email me with your thoughts on my stuff. I'm sorry I won't be replying as I have neither time nor inclination for correspondence. So please don't be disappointed if you don't hear back. Very occasionally, if spare time and inclination coincide, I might respond, but there's no guarantee.
